How to use a gas cylinder trolley safely

To use a gas cylinder trolley safely, you should follow these steps:

  • Wear steel toe capped shoes and heavy-duty gloves to help you grip.
  • Undo the secure bars on the trolley and slide the trolley near the cylinder.
  • Unhook the chain from the rack and put the palm of your hand on the cylinder neck.
  • Tilt it forward so it rests on the base and rotate the cylinder on to the trolley.
  • Fasten the strap or chain mechanism to secure the cylinder to the trolley.
  • Always push the trolley, don’t pull it. This gives you better control over the trolley and helps prevent it from tipping over.
  • Move at a controlled speed and avoid quick turns. Plan your route to avoid uneven surfaces, slopes, and cluttered areas that may cause the trolley to become unstable.
  • When not in use, store the trolley in a safe and secure place, with the gas cylinder still secured on the trolley. Avoid storing the trolley in high-traffic areas to prevent accidental bumping or knocking over.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain the trolley to ensure it is in good working condition.
