Q&A

What size is a euro pallet?

The dimensions of a euro pallet differs slightly from a UK pallet and they are typically 1200mm x 800mm x 144mm. Our 2500kg Euro pallet truck is suitable for both UK and Euro pallets, making it ideal for general use in many warehouses.

How to use a hand pallet truck

Our 2500kg pallet truck couldn’t be easier to use! It features a 3 function control handle to lift, lower and maintain a neutral position. Simply pump the handle to lift or lower loads and push or pull the hand pallet truck to move it.

Do pallet trucks fall under LOLER?

It depends on the type of pallet truck in question. LOLER (Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations) is a set of regulations in place to ensure that lifting equipment is safe for users. Whether a pallet truck will fall under LOLER depends on how high it lifts pallets - whilst the majority of pallet trucks won’t come under LOLER, ‘high-lift pallet trucks’ are likely to as there are more risks involved if pallets fall. That said, pallet trucks will need checking by PUWER (The Provision & Use of Work Equipment).

What is a pallet truck’s safe handling limit?

The safe handling limit of a pallet truck will vary across types of pallet trucks. That said, the average maximum handling limit for a manual pallet truck is about 700kg, 23000kg for electric pallet trucks and up to around 2500kg for heavy duty pallet trucks. The safe handling limit for this Euro pallet truck is 2500kg.

Is using a pallet truck manual handling?

Yes, using a manual pallet truck (such as this heavy duty hand pallet truck 2500kg) is a form of manual handling because it requires a user to use bodily force to operate it (e.g. pushing and pulling the pallet truck). For this reason, it’s essential to follow the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (MHOR) and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).
